Tuesday Darts, Week 11

Final Score: Da Geeks 6, Dart Dozers 1. Angie and Steve did finally show up and we had fun.

I was the only loss for us for the night as I seem to have a problem with hitting doubles. I struggled in closing and I had a heck of a time getting started on my 3091 game. I finally got on when he was down to small double digits, but I couldn't do it. I finally was able to connect later in the night by getting us on in team 301.

Marv on the other hand was on fire! He threw a lot of Ton+ as the Honor Roll shows. Way to go sir!

The Honor Roll only has one member, Marvin. He had a Ton-16, Ton-18, Ton-19, Ton-21, Ton-40, and a High On of a Ton-15. Like I said, he was on!

Thoughts for tonight's match 3/29/11

Biggest thought is, will the other team, Dart Dozers, even show up?

Last week they were supposed to play Down & Outers and they postponed at the last minute. Last time they were to play us, they didn't show at all and no phone call.

So we will see what happens. I guess around 15:00 I'll try calling her.

Thursday Darts, Week 10

Final Score: Da Geeks 5, Ship Faced 2. The Ship Faced team has changed. It was Scott, Kim, and Ruben, a good player from Wednesday league.

We all shot well and Scott is still a ____ (fill in the blank).

There is a new cook in Scott's kitchen and his name is Rodman. Rodman took Scott in his singles match and it was a good thing. I like Scott, Mr. Balk, but I like it better when he loses.

I may give Scott a hard time and verbally and physically abuse him, but I still love the guy. He is one of the better players to throw against, or throw up upon, all depends in your mood.

Marvin and Kim had a point fest in one of their matches. Marv had 365 points to Kim's 280+. Nice to see PMW Kim get his own medicine.

Ruben is tough. I won the first leg of our singles but then he caught a case of PMW (point mongering whore for those not in the know) and really stomped me the next two games.

Our team game was bad. We had a problem getting off throwing in the 20's, not good. We did get it down to 88 with their 8, but they prevailed.

The Honor Roll had Mr. Bull-buster Rodman with a 4x2 and a 3x2. Ruben had a 3x2.

Thoughts for tonight's match 3/24/11

Seeing that one of the other teams members is no longer shooting this season, it is good new that Scott will be subbing in.

Tuesday Darts, Week 10

Final Score: Da Geeks 0, Oh Geez 7. The brothers Joey and Mark got lost going to their own home bar and still kicked our arses.


They are good, so good we only won one game, and I got the out in the 501 doubles. We tried, but they are a very good A1 team while we are a so-so A2 team.


The Honor Roll had me with a Ton-14, whooo friggin' hoooo. Joe had a 3x2. Mark on the other had had a Ton-23, Ton-80, a Round of Nine's 20-19-18, and two 3x2's. He said he like playing against us.

Thursday Darts, Week 9

Final Score: Da Geeks 2, Here for the Beer 5. Justin, Ed, and Julien came into Throwbacks to not drink green beer, but to beat us bad.

What happened to us? We fell apart last night. Rodman was on, Marv was Mr. Wire again, and I plain sucked, except for one, maybe two throws.

This is just a bump in the road for us. We will have to get back on track as I really want to see Da Geeks get the first place for the season.

The Honor Roll had me with a 4x3, Rodman had a 3x3 and two 3x2’s, way to go Mr. Bullbuster! Oh yeah, Justin slipped in a 3x2.

Tuesday Darts, Week 9

Final Score: Da Geeks 1, Uno Who 6. George and Pete showed up and were on!

We did not shoot that bad last night, it was that the other team had a love affair with triples at the wrong time for us. Marv figured out what happened last Saturday with his darts hitting the wires and he did shoot well.

I had a problem closing. My 301 game got down to X for both of us and I could not connect. I also had a problem on 18’s which is unusual for me, being famous for my “Bert Dart” and all.

The Honor Roll had me with a Ton-34. Marv had a Ton-08 and a Ton-32. George had a Ton-40, a High On of a Ton-16, and a 4x3. Pete had a Ton-06, a High On of Ton-20, twice, and two 3x2’s.

Tuesday Dartts, Week 6 (Makeup on 3/12/11)

Final Score: Da Geeks 0, Down & Outers 7. Bob and Scott joined us Saturday at Michael’s and kicked our arses.

I did not post until today because we should have done much better. Marv and Bob were both shooting at X (double 1) and was going ok until Marv made the Motorcycle Compensation joke to Bob and he finally hit the G-Spot.

It took me 3 doubles to win my 501 game against Bob, the last 2 were a D-7 then a D-12.

The Honor Roll had me with a 3x2, whooo hoooo. Bob had a Toin-33 and a 3x2.

Thursday Darts, Week 8

Final Score: Da Geeks 4, Twitchers 3. Mike, Bob, Jim, and Thom who cam in at game 6, showed up with Mike in a cast on his left hand and a great story from their match from last week.

It was told that Derrick from Ship Faced didn’t like the way that the chalker was keeping score, writing down all the numbers then adding it up, so he walked over to him and punched him, after “F” bombs were said back and forth. Derrick was escorted out of the bar. He should be banned from the league for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Back to darts….. Rodman was on, no more for his bull busters but he did take out the last game and $7.

Marv was close and was able to throw decent darts.

I got matched up with Jim and his twitches almost killed me. He twitched a trip 19 on me and I had to counter by throwing 6 16’s then finally finishing the game with two double bulls in two turns. The second match he was 1-4 on me in bulls but I pulled it out and got the win.

The Honor Roll had Mike with a 3x2.

Tonight vs the Twitchers 3-10-11

We are at home so I will set the lineup RMB. Hopefully we can do a 5-2 against this team, but I would like to see us go 6-1 or better to get back on tract.

I just have to get into Cricket mode as that is all we play tonight, except for the team 1001 game.

The results for week 7 are finnaly posted. No change for either night which is good. We will be making up the Tuesday game on Saturday and hopefully we will move up a little.

Thursday Darts, Week 7

Final Score: Da Geeks 4, Lucky Dog 3. Ellis, Gil, and Dave showed up with their entourage at The Olde Ship. This was the first time at the Ship for this team and they seemed to like it.

This is the only good throw I had all night….it was my first practice shot at bulls when I got to the pub. I really was not on my game last night. I was not connecting and to top off the night, I lost a dart! I have magnetic spinning tops on my darts and when I was holding them; one must have fallen and couldn’t get up. I do have another set that I pulled out, same make and weight, 26 gram Black Widows, but still, I lost a friggin’ dart!

Rodman was on thank goodness. He got two “machines” in his singles match and he is still hitting the bulls for the Bull Buster award.

Marv had a sore thumb and a frozen hand to start the night, but he did throw a lot better than I did.

The Honor Roll had Rodman with a 3x2. Gil, the blind squirrel, had a 3x2. Dave had two 3x2’s.

Thoughts for tonight's match 3/3/11

Tonight we play the last place team at The Olde Ship British Pub in Santa Ana. I don't want to get cocky and say we will dominate, I just hope we can throw solid darts tonight.

Since we are the home team, I will set the line-up RMB.

Thoughts for tonight's match 3/1/11

Tonight is Scott and Jenemy at their place, Michael's Sports Pub & Grill, and we need a win.

I hope I can get into Scott's kitchen tonight and get a win from him!

Oh well, it should be taco Tuesday at Michael's and I think I will have some.

BUMMER!!! No darts as J-dog is moving and can't make it. :-(
