Thursday Darts, Week 10 (10-27-11)

Final Score: Da Geeks 1, Are We Having Fun Yet 6. Ken, Randy, and Jeff, who showed up 45 minutes late as he works until 8, showed up @TheOldeShip and having 2 A players on their team, kicked our arses.

Ken and Randy are good players with Jeff right up with them. We tried but we didn't try hard enough, except for me who got Jeff when he was not fully warmed up and got our only win for the night.

They won the last cork so they called the team game as a Cricket game down to 10. It has been a long time since we played that game and it showed in the final score.

The Honor Roll had Rodman with a 3x2.

Tuesday Darts, Week 10 (10-26-11)

Final Score: Geek & Son 1, Asscott & Kimwitt 6. Kim and Steve, who is replacing the injured Scott. I hope Scott does the right thing and get some physical therapy on his arm and come back to harass us again.

It was a good night as Josh was the bartender tonight and he drove his '67(?) caddie which really impressed Greg.
Well the score does not reflect the very tight matches we had. Greg was awesome in his cricket game against Kim, getting very many circles on his side of the scoreboard and he remembered the "third dart" rule: if you close a number that you can score on and have one dart in your hand, throw the third in that number again to get a score.

Greg said I should mention my comeback in the 301 game against Steve. He started 3 rounds before I got on, but I got down to a 32 while he had an 8. He threw 4,2,X......that was the type of night it was. Steve finished the night by taking out a 69 with a 19, DB.

Greg and I were really on our doubles Cricket. The second, and last, game, Steve controlled the bulls but we had a lot of point options until they finally close the last one we had, 18's. The score was them 325, us 336. Steve had the bulls and there score was only from bulls. We had 2 bulls so it was first bull from either side wins. Thank you Greg!

The honor roll had Steve with a Ton-40, Ton-21, and a 4x2.

Thursday Darts, Week 9 (10/20/11)

Final Score: Da Geeks 2, Here For The Beer 5. Justin, Ed, and Mr. 17 (and 16) Julien showed up at Throwbacks Sports Bar & Grill where they were out of Coke and Newcastle with one bartender/waiter, with the World Series going on!

As Rodman put it, we threw good, only the other team threw better. I was doing ok until the 9 I threw in the team 1001 for my first turn. I was able to get my singles match won and did help out in the first doubles, but we are not doing to well this season.

Justin was not on as the last time we met but that dang Julien knew where the triple ring was located. Ed had a mental breakdown and I am sorry again I distracted him while he was throwing as I was trying to get Rodman's attention to try to figure out what he was doing.

The Honor Roll had Marv and Ed with a 3x2 each.

Tuesday Darts, Week 9 (10/18/2011)

Final Score; Geek & Son 1, Higgs Boson 6.Mark and Woody showed up with a lot more players at the Dolphin Lounge and got back into their PMW mode. We did start the night on a good note by eating here: Socal Crawfish Connection.

Close but no cigar was our creedo last night. We got close but could npt finish, except for Greg. Greg was doing good until Stephan showed up and bought Greg some Yeager, thanx Stephan.

I shot some good numbers, but I couldn't close, I was resting on the outside of the proper double wires, but I could not connect.

The Honor Roll had Greg with a Ton-20 and Mark had three 3x2s and a High On of a Ton-50 (bastard stole my High On for the season).

Thursday Darts, Week 8 (10/13/11)

Final Score: Da Geeks 5, Twitchers 2. Bob, Mike, Jim, and Thom who came in at game 5 showed up @TheOldeShip and were themselves.

We shot pretty good tonight as the score reflects and I have to say that Jim actually played more than one game in his singles match. He was too bus still being pumped on how he did at Cribbage in a recent tournament he was in in Reno. I think he should stick with the cards and forget darts.

Marvin was good tonight and he took out an 82 in two darts in the final game.

The Honor Roll had Rodman with a 4x2, me with a 3x2, Bob with a 3x2, and Mike had a 3x3 and a 3x2.

Tuesday Darts, Week 8 (10/11/11)

Final Score; Geek & Son 0, Dartaholics 7. Edsel and Alden showed up at the Dolphin Lounge and kicked our arses.

We tried, we were close but the #1 team of E & A just had better throws.

Greg had his Cricket game almost wrapped up against Alden but then Alden came back and shot the heck out of Bulls and Greg was not able to recover. Tough loss for him.

These two are good and it is fun to shoot against them, but lack of practice showed on our part and the board was not the best, but that is no excuse.

The Honor Roll had  Edsel with a Ton-37, a 3x2, and a 3x3. Alden had two Ton-25's and a 5X3.

Tuesday Darts, Week 7 (10-4-11)

Final Score: Geek & Son 5, Asscott & Kimwitt 2. Kim and Scott are always fun to shoot with. I think Kim is finally OK with my remarks I made about him in my blog from last time we met as it was an all night stream of "Blog this Bert!"

It was a Loooooong night for us. It started out by me thinking "How nice it would be for us to find another location to shoot darts as @TheOldeShip was having their monthly Pub Trivia Night (first Tuesday of the month). No big deal, I contacted the other team and we were going to play out of their place. Greg and I get to Centerfiled Sports Bar and I found out I made a big oops. I forgot to look at the other division's schedule and another team was shooting there.

Once Kim and Scott arrived (after Greg had a great looking mushroom burger), we decided to go to Michael's Sports Pub & Grill. We finally got started around 8:45 so it looked like it was going to be a late night starting out, but then it got worse.

I started out good with Kim, but as usual for me, and Greg tonight, the doubling out is becoming a pain. I am close, real close, but bending wires and hitting just outside of the pie, I am an friggin' expert at. I did come back, pulling the darts out of the board before Mr. Arsehole had a chance to see them. He was really trying to get under my skin, but I didn't let it bother me, even after he pointed out my slump on the bottom of the board by missing 12 darts in a row. (see I did mention it Scott, Luv Ya). I did win the Cricket game and finally hit on a double in the 301 to get the leg.

Greg was steady but he forgot where the bulls were but oh my goodness, his singles cricket against Scott was Awesome. He had all "Circles" with no marks inside from 19-16. It was an awesome game and thank the darts gods as he had those to get some points as he was having a brain meltdown as where that little circle was, 5'8" high, 7'9 3/4" away.

I have to mention that Scott was not himself throwing. His past injury to his throwing arm, no not a dart rage injury, thought has crossed many a mind though, but a work related one. He needs to keep rehabilitating his arm as it is better to throw against him when he is Mr. Arsehole the dart player.

We only played 1 game for the last 3 legs instead of the best of 3 as it was getting really late. And as the code shows, all 3 singles matches went 3 games, with people missing outs, it was very tiring.

The Honor Roll had me with a High On of Ton-20.
