Tuesday Darts, Week 8 (10/11/11)

Final Score; Geek & Son 0, Dartaholics 7. Edsel and Alden showed up at the Dolphin Lounge and kicked our arses.

We tried, we were close but the #1 team of E & A just had better throws.

Greg had his Cricket game almost wrapped up against Alden but then Alden came back and shot the heck out of Bulls and Greg was not able to recover. Tough loss for him.

These two are good and it is fun to shoot against them, but lack of practice showed on our part and the board was not the best, but that is no excuse.

The Honor Roll had  Edsel with a Ton-37, a 3x2, and a 3x3. Alden had two Ton-25's and a 5X3.

Tuesday Darts, Week 7 (10-4-11)

Final Score: Geek & Son 5, Asscott & Kimwitt 2. Kim and Scott are always fun to shoot with. I think Kim is finally OK with my remarks I made about him in my blog from last time we met as it was an all night stream of "Blog this Bert!"

It was a Loooooong night for us. It started out by me thinking "How nice it would be for us to find another location to shoot darts as @TheOldeShip was having their monthly Pub Trivia Night (first Tuesday of the month). No big deal, I contacted the other team and we were going to play out of their place. Greg and I get to Centerfiled Sports Bar and I found out I made a big oops. I forgot to look at the other division's schedule and another team was shooting there.

Once Kim and Scott arrived (after Greg had a great looking mushroom burger), we decided to go to Michael's Sports Pub & Grill. We finally got started around 8:45 so it looked like it was going to be a late night starting out, but then it got worse.

I started out good with Kim, but as usual for me, and Greg tonight, the doubling out is becoming a pain. I am close, real close, but bending wires and hitting just outside of the pie, I am an friggin' expert at. I did come back, pulling the darts out of the board before Mr. Arsehole had a chance to see them. He was really trying to get under my skin, but I didn't let it bother me, even after he pointed out my slump on the bottom of the board by missing 12 darts in a row. (see I did mention it Scott, Luv Ya). I did win the Cricket game and finally hit on a double in the 301 to get the leg.

Greg was steady but he forgot where the bulls were but oh my goodness, his singles cricket against Scott was Awesome. He had all "Circles" with no marks inside from 19-16. It was an awesome game and thank the darts gods as he had those to get some points as he was having a brain meltdown as where that little circle was, 5'8" high, 7'9 3/4" away.

I have to mention that Scott was not himself throwing. His past injury to his throwing arm, no not a dart rage injury, thought has crossed many a mind though, but a work related one. He needs to keep rehabilitating his arm as it is better to throw against him when he is Mr. Arsehole the dart player.

We only played 1 game for the last 3 legs instead of the best of 3 as it was getting really late. And as the code shows, all 3 singles matches went 3 games, with people missing outs, it was very tiring.

The Honor Roll had me with a High On of Ton-20.

Thursday Darts, Week 6 (9/29/11)

Final Score: Da Geeks 0, Bud Guys 7. Don, Ernie, and Mark showed up at Michael's Sports Pub & Grill at their staggered times.

Bottom line, Da Geeks sucked and Friggin' Ernie was on, although during the match I didn't call him friggin', it was the Holy Mother of cuss words. He started out his games by hitting Tops and during a doubles match when we needed one bull and they needed 3, he hit a single which fell out, hit the Double Bull then followed it up with a single that stuck.....friggin' Ernie.

Rodman had a very nice moment when he hit back to back 3x2's. Woo Hoo he won a game!

The Honor Roll had Rodman with two 3x2's and Ernie with two 3x2's.

Tuesday Darts, Week 6 (9/27/11)

Final Score: Ga Geeks 3, Higgs Boson 4. Mark and Woody showed up @TheOldeShip early which was nice since we got to start early. Greg was hungry and after his bowl of clam chowder, he ordered some Crisps as you can read about here, GBD to the Max.

Greg has found out where the bulls are located on the board. He also impressed everyone by starting out a 501 singles game with a Ton-40 then adding a couple of 81's in the mix.

We were able to finally figure out how to control them in Cricket so there was no PMWing last night.

I was told by Greg that it was my time to be honored in the blog. He said I was to call myself "Tripleisish"! Well I finally woke up in the team games and in Cricket I figured out where the dang triple was located. I Hit T-19, T-18, and blew the next and hit a 3. AL lot more came out in that game as when we needed points I hit the T-20 when needed.

I had a problem in practice/warm-up where I could not hit a double to save my life. I got a very sore arm but it changed into a dull small pain that finally had me actually shooting better! The last out of the night was when Greg left me 58 in the double 301 game. I hit a solid 18, then aimed for "Tops" and hit a D2. Well the only thing I could do was to go to the bottom of the board and I did finish with the D19. Greg was impressed and he was impressed with my D17 earlier in the match.

The Honor Roll had me with a 3x2, Greg with a Ton-40 and a 3x2, and Mark had a 3x2.

Darts, Darts, and More #Darts: Thursday Darts, Week 6 (9/22/11)

Darts, Darts, and More #Darts: Thursday Darts, Week 6 (9/22/11): Final Score: Da Geeks 1, Are We Having Fun Yet 6. Randy, Ken, and Geff, who showed up late so we juggled the playing order to accommodate. T...

Thursday Darts, Week 5 (9/22/11)

Final Score: Da Geeks 1, Are We Having Fun Yet 6. Randy, Ken, and Geff, who showed up late so we juggled the playing order to accommodate. That was the only good thing Da Geeks did.

Randy is an awesome player. He likes shooting bulls first which plays on the other teams mind. No wonder he is the Bull-Buster leader. Although Ken pulled off a 3x2 to win a doubles when Rodman and I needed one bull to win, bummer.

Marv was the star, I think he likes throwing a lot of games in a row.

I was not on, I shot a lot to the right tonight.

Rodman faced Randy first and I hate to say, he got his arse whooped.

The Honor Roll had me with a 3x2, Marv with a 3x3 and a 3x2, Ken had two 3x2's.

Tuesday Darts, Week 5 (09/20/11)

Final Score: Geek & Sub 1, Dartalohics 6. Edsel and Alden showed up right on time to The Olde Ship and gave us some interesting matches.

Marv subbed in for Greg as Greg and Dee are kayaking at Catalina for the next couple of days. I feel sorry for them as they have quite a bit of paddling coming up. I did give Greg some of my Ibuprofen I get from the VA  to help him out. I hope they are having fun.

Marvin had fun playing the '01 games again, but he did have a bit of trouble getting started in a 301 singles game, he didn't. He did make up for it by hitting Tops in the three team 301 games later on to get us started.

My only claim to fame for the night was in the first game I shot. Edsel started out with 4 60's in a row. I finally got going an was left with 80. I stepped up and something told me to GFI, so I hit Tops, breathed, and hit Tops again. Marv gave me crap by saying the first dart was a oops but I told him it felt right and it paid off.

Edsel totally dominated the Cricket game and that team was like that all night. The we hitting trips at will. If we closed our '01 games on time, we would have a lot better score than a 1-6.

The Honor Roll had Edsel with a Ton-09 and a 3x2. Alden had  Ton-25 and a Ton-35.
